【Cigarette and ED】

It is well known that the smoking causes a vascular endothelium disorder and to be a risk-factor of the cerebrovascular accident such as myocardial infarction and angina. However it’s not only this problem, but smoking is considered as a possible cause of ED, too. According to some of the research report, the ED’s disease rate among the smokers was 40%, whereas the nonsmoker’s rate was 28%, so there was a significant difference between them. There actually are quite a few of the research reports which proved that the more the quantity of cigarettes people smoke gives them more risk to develop ED. Well then, when the smoker develops ED, will it improve the ED symptom if giving up smoking? According to a result of the cross sectional study which targeted 4500 veterans as samples, ED’s disease rate was less among the ones who were used to smoke but not smoking now. This result might indirectly have shown the effectiveness of no smoking to the development of ED. There is some other research result which actually reported that when making the ED patients of the heavy smoker to give up smoking for 1 month, their penile hardness and vessel dilatation improved promptly, too. However, on the other hand, there are the other report that said that ED didn’t improve, even if giving up smoking. There is no certain conclusion had come out yet.
However, to stop smoking when being young is more likely to improve the ED symptom. At least, stopping smoking is no possibility to be harmful for ED treatment, as there is no such a research report which said that it was. So then if you are worried about the ED symptom, it’s good idea to try to stop smoking
At present, smoking cessation treatment utilizing oral medication (Champix) can be covered by the health insurance as long as meeting the conditions. So then we at Shibuya 3 rd block clinic will start the smoking cessation treatment to promote more effective ED treatment, too from 2011.
